What is Form 1120?
Form 1120 is the U.S. Corporation Income Tax Return that C Corporations must file annually with the IRS to report business income, deductions, gains, losses, credits, and calculate federal income tax liability. For the 2025 tax year filed in 2026, C Corporations must file Form 1120 by April 15, 2026, or request an extension to October 15, 2026. The form captures comprehensive financial information, including gross receipts, cost of goods sold, officer compensation, and applies the 21% corporate tax rate to taxable income. Businesses making a Late C Corporation election for 2025 will file Form 1120 once their election receives IRS approval during the 2026 filing season.
